The EWS64 installation CD includes the 32 MBit (4 MB) GS soundset GSSBK320.94b with 128 GM instruments,
225 sound variations, 9 drum kits and a SFX kit, useful to playback GM or GS compatible MIDI files.
This soundset has several disadvantages:
- Using Windows 98, it can be loaded only by device manager, but not with the Setmanager.
- Windows 2000/XP user cannot use it in any way.
- It can't be loaded with Ed!son to edit, add or replace instruments.
- On many Windows 98 systems the Terratec EWS64 ASIO driver doesn't work well, if older 94b soundsets
like the GSSBK320.94b are loaded - please don't ask me why...
For these reasons I've developed a TTS version of this soundset, which doesn't has the mentioned disadvantages,
the
GSSB320.TTS. While converting to TTS format, one instrument ("Wind Bell"; Prg. 101/Bank 127) and
all drum kits went lost. So I created an additional soundset, the
DRUMKITS.TTS, which includes nearly
all drum kits and the SFX set of the GSSBK320.94b except of the "CM-64/32 Kit".
Notes:
1. Both soundsets must be loaded simultaneously with Setmanager or Ed!son, if you want to playback
GM or GS MIDI files.
2. In Ed!son all instrument names appear in full length in the instrument list.
3. Loaded with Setmanager, you can find all program and bank numbers in my
PDF-Documentation.
4. User of Cubase VST 5 or SX can use my
Patchname script file to simply access
all instruments and Drum kits.

2. PDF-Documentation with an instrument list
Details including program and bank numbers to the totalling 128 GM instruments, 224 sound variations,
8 Drum kits and the SFX set of both soundsets you'll find in my English documentation in PDF format:
gssbk320tts_e.pdf.

3. Hints to Setmanager v2.1/3.12/3.15
While using Setmanager v3.12 or v3.15 on Windows 98 systems to load DRUMKITS.TTS, only the Standard Drum kit
will be available! Therefore you should prefer the older Setmanager v2.1 - loaded with this version,
all Drum kits will be available at Channel 10 under their particular Program number.
Setmanager v2.1 is included in the EWS64 Windows-9x software packages (file
EWS64_App_w9x_D.exe for L/XL/XXL
models and file
EWS64S_App_w9x_B.exe
for S models.
Note:
Under Windows 2000/XP Setmanager v3.15 works fine without the mentioned problem.

4. Important hint to Ed!son
Before running Ed!son, you first must (!) delete all currently
loaded soundsets with the Setmanager!
If you don't do this, Ed!son won't work correctly. After loading an TTI-instrument or TTS-soundset in Ed!son,
you can (re)load other soundsets with the Setmanager without getting errors in Ed!son.

5. Cubase Patchname script file for GSSBK320.TTS/DRUMKITS.TTS
At my pages
The EWS64 under Cubase
you can find at sub-page 'Scriptfile GSSBK320'
a Patchname script file for GSSB320.TTS/DRUMKITS.TTS, which provides in Cubase 5 or SX easy access by
name to all the available instruments and drum kits of both soundsets.
Additionally this script file offers easy access to all program numbers of banks 10-15 (=Var. 11-16 in Ed!son),
useful for own soundsets loaded by Ed!son or Setmanager.
